NovAtel has released firmware version 3.302 for the OEMV Series of GPS receivers. This version has a fix to resolve a RTK crash when PRN 32 is used as the reference (highest in the sky) reference.

NovAtel has announced the release of GrafNav/GrafNet™ version 8.10. GrafNav/GrafNet™ is a powerful GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System) post-processing software that can process raw data from most GPS receivers. Release version 8.10 includes several improvement and features such as support for NovAtel’s proprietary on-the-fly (OTF) AdVance™ RTK (ARTK) engine, HTML output for reports, and improved Google Earth™ exporting. February 4th, 2008: NovAtel CDU Program Update Release 3.3.0.3

NovAtel’s CDU program has been recently updated and improved. This Graphical User Interface (GUI) is for use with NovAtel’s OEM4 and OEMV GPS receivers. Release version 3.3.03 has been updated for OEMV 3.301 firmware enhancements and is now compatible with the Microsoft Vista operating system.

NovAtel’s OEMV Series of GPS receivers have a firmware update available for download. Version 3.301 introduces 50Hz raw measurement capability and Position Velocity and Timing (PVT) output, improved accuracy for SBAS and CDGPS positioning, and improvements to Network RTK.

OmniSTAR will start broadcasting VBS2 corrections in the first quarter of 2008. The older VBS corrections will cease to be transmitted. Older firmware versions may not be able to accept the newer VBS2 information. It is highly recommended that users of the OmniSTAR VBS service check the firmware version of their NovAtel GPS receivers and/or OmniSTAR 3000 Series receivers.
The NovAtel GPS receivers can be upgraded easily by downloading the firmware from NovAtel using the link(s) shown below. The OmniSTAR 3000 Series receivers will need to be sent in for the firmware upgrade.

NovAtel Inc has announced their new software update subscription service. Beginning September 30, 2007 software/firmware updates for NovAtel’s OEMV Series will be made on a “when and if available basis” to customers through their subscription service. Subscriptions will be sold in 12-month increments and each GPS receiver will require a separate subscription. New GPS receiver purchases and model upgrades will include a one-year subscription at no additional charge.

NovAtel Inc introduces the single frequency GPS-701-GGL and dual frequency GPS-702-GGL GPS antennas. These antennas offer the most flexibility to track GPS, GLONASS, and L-Band signals.
GPS-701-GGL
The GPS-701-GGL is a single frequency (L1) GPS, GLONASS, and L-Band antenna. The antenna is the same size as the GPS-701-GG antenna with the same 5/8″ thread mount. The GPS-701-GGL uses NovAtel’s Pinwheel™ technology helps reduce multipath for better accuracy.
GPS-702-GGL
The GPS-702-GGL is a dual frequency (L1/L2) GPS, GLONASS, and L-Band antenna. Size of the antenna is the same as the GPS-702-GG with a 5/8″ thread mount. This antenna utilizes NovAte’s Pinwheel™ technology for improved multipath rejection.

New firmware version 3.210 is ready for download for OEMV Series GPS receivers. This new version adds the RTK Timeout command, default Undulation table is now set to EGM96, and improvement for dual frequency SPP, SBAS, or CDGPS solutions. A complete list of changes/improvements are shown below.

May 16th, 2007: NovAtel OEMV Firmware Version 3.20

The latest OEMV firmware version 3.20 has been released. This new version has several improvements and features. One of the most anticipated addition is the automatic beam selection for OmniSTAR satellite based DGPS corrections. Prior to this feature, a command to change the frequency had to be issued. The automatic beam selection eliminates the need for manually setting the frequency.
Other improvements include: Improved Troposphere Model, GPS+GLONASS positioning, and AdVance RTK (technical white paper, PDF). A complete list of changes since version 3.10 is shown below.

NovAtel’s DL-V3 Series GPS receiver is now available.
This powerful GPS receiver adds data logging capability along with LED tracking indication. It is powered by the OEMV-3, which can utilize Satellite Base Augmentation System (SBAS) corrections such as WAAS, OmniSTAR VBS, XP, or HP corrections, or CDGPS.
