NovAtel has released their latest firmware for OEM7 generation receivers. 7.09.01 for ag applications and 7.09.02 for all other markets.

• PPP positioning improvements in environments affected by ionospheric scintillation to improve availability of positioning
• PPP seeding improvements
• INS azimuth standard deviation reporting adjustments for non-ag profiles

NovAtel has released 7.09.00 firmware for OEM7-based receivers. This is a general release applicable to OEM719, OEM729, OEM7700, OEM7600, OEM7720, OEM7500, CPT7, CPT7700, PwrPak7, PwrPak7D, GT7800.

New Features

• Precision Time Protocol (PTP)

NovAtel has released 7.08.10 firmware for some OEM7 GNSS receivers. It is available for OEM719, OEM729, OEM7700, CPT7700, and PwrPak7. It is not compatible with dual antenna receivers.

This firmware release is primarily about TerraStar-C Pro improvements but does include additional updates/improvements. Improvements include an update to the WiFi package on PwrPak7 hardware and an increase to the idle time available.

NovAtel has released OEM7 firmware version 7.08.00 for OEM719, OEM729, OEM7700, OEM7720, OEM7500, OEM7600, PwrPak7, CPT7. New features are support for tracking BeiDou B2b signal and new PwrPak7Q-E2 and PwrPak7DQ-E2. The new Q series offer the PwrPak7 without WiFi, but retains on-board data logging.

NovAtel has released version 7.07.03 firmware for the OEM7 series of GNSS receivers. This firmware is for | OEM719 | OEM729 | OEM7700 | OEM7720 | OEM7500 | OEM7600 | PP7 | PP7D | CPT7 | GT7800 | receivers.

This firmware release adds support for the newly announced TerraStar-X service. For more information and download information, please contact us.

OEM7 firmware version 7.07.01 (OM7MR0701RN0000, EP7PR0701RN0000) is now available for NovAtel OEM GNSS receivers. It is for OEM719, OEM729, OEM7700, OEM7720, OEM7500, OEM7600, PP7, PP7D, CPT7. This release is NOT for SMART7 or SMART2.

There are improvements to marine and rail profiles, SPAN system convergence robustness, and commands/logs changes. Some of the OEM6 SPAN commands are removed in this new version, so be sure to read the documentation for upgrading.

NovAtel Inc has released version 7.05.00 firmware for the OEM7 series receivers. It applies to all of the OEM7 hardware (OEM719, OEM729, OEM 7700, OEM7720, OEM7600, PP7, PP7D, CPT7).

There are several new features included in this release. TerraStar-C PRO, RTKAssist PRO, API using LUA scripting language, Galileo measurements used in position data. (continue reading this entry…)

NovAtel announced updates to L-Band tracking functionality for OEM6 and OEM7 receivers. This affects users of the TerraStar (PPP) satellite-based correction service. There is a potential issue that could affect users if the frequency changes beyond the current frequency range (1530 – 1545 MHz). Users of the service need to make sure they are running the latest firmware to prevent potential tracking issues should the frequency range change.

The 7.03.00 firmware is now available on all OEM7 receivers. The OEM7700, OEM719 and OEM729 can be updated to the 7.03.00 firmware which supports new features like the SPAN® Land Vehicle technology, direct Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) connections and tracking of the NavIC Indian regional satellite system on the L5 frequency. Certain firmware versions on the OEMV series of GPS receivers will report an invalid GPS week date on July 22 2017. It is important to check the firmware version on your NovAtel receiver to see if you need to upgrade. The affected firmware versions are 3.300 to 3.714 and 3.810 to 3.813.

On December 31, 2016 at 23:59:59, a positive leap second will be added into the UTC time. This may affect some users of NovAtel GLONASS capable receivers. It is recommended that if you have a GLONASS model, to check your firmware version and upgrade if necessary.

NovAtel has released version 6.700 (OEM060700RN0000) firmware for OEM628-based hardware. This includes the FlexPak6 and Smart6-L. It does not apply to the Flex6D. There are some improvements related to TerraStar, Autosurvey improvements (Smart6-L with RELAY), as well as some new commands.

NovAtel has released 3.907 version firmware for the OEMV Series of receivers. This 3.907 version is a fix for the upcoming GLONASS leap second introduction that will occur at the end of June.

It is recommended that if you have a GLONASS enabled NovAtel of the OEMV Series, please upgrade before June 30 2015.
