Firmware version 3.040 for OEMV SPAN (Sychronized Position Attitude and Navigation) GPS receivers is now available for download. This firmware release is available at no charge to all OEMV SPAN customers.
This new release features improved performance in severe GPS conditions, NMEATALKER, additional attitude output options, and many other improvents. A complete list of improvements and features are below.
- Improved Performance in Severe GPS Conditions: Updated logic for the blending of GPS and IMU data for an optimal solution when operating in GPS-compromised areas such as built-up urban locations
- NMEATALKER: Allows the user to always select the operation of the NMEA message prefix
- Additional Attitude Output Options: Attitude (roll, pitch, heading) can now be output with respect to the vehicle axes or the IMU axes
- Additional Solution Offsets: The receiver event triggers will now output exact position, velocity, and attitude solutions from the SPAN filter
- Enhanced Solution Status Information: New position types added to the BESTPOS log output will better reflect the solution when operating in OmniSTAR mode
- Enhanced IMU Status Checking: Improved the impact on the navigation solution of minor IMU sensor output anomalies
- Latest OmniSTAR Library: SPAN users now have the latest OmniSTAR library
